Do you struggle at times with managing life? Are there times when you feel like a mature responsible adult and then all of a sudden you feel overwhelmed, emotional, angry or less than adequate. Do you struggle with ongoing "chatter" or negative self-talk that prevents you from focusing? Or maybe you have one area of your life you can't seem to manage regardless of how hard you try? If any of these describe you then you have come to the right place. My speciality is helping people overcome the barriers that prevent them from living up to their full potential. These barriers are often related to past wounding experiences that get stuck in our brains and leave us susceptible to getting emotionally activated. When this happens, we can act in ways that do not line up with our true values and character. This behavior often leaves us frustrated, disappointed and can cause problems in our lives and our relationships. If you are ready to move beyond this frustrating dynamic, then join me as we explore the root causes of your issue and quickly move towards helping your brain engage in overcoming the problems. I believe you have everything you need within you to heal. Your healing is worth investing in. Perhaps at this point you are thinking, “I have been in therapy before and it didn’t work.” I completely understand your skepticism. However, I approach therapy differently. First, I do not use traditional talk therapy as a way to problem solve. I am skilled at helping you discover the fuel source for your problems and then use a specialized therapy called Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) to help your brain use it’s own built in healing mechanism to extinguish this fuel source. Using EMDR your brain is able to file these past experiences so they no longer get activated in the present. Secondly, I do not adhere to the traditional one hour a week schedule. I believe if you want results quickly then therapy needs to be more structured more intensively. For this reason, I tailored my practice so you can reserve large blocks of time where we focus specifically on you and your needs. The time reserved can be anywhere from 6 hours to 3 days (18 hours). I have found 6 hours of intensive therapy is equal to up to 3 months of once a week therapy. My commitment to you during the therapy time you reserve is my full attention, clinical skills and belief that you can overcome the barriers to being your best self.
